Hotel Opens The Mini Bar, Delivers Snacks To Health Care Workers
Health care workers at Columbia Presbyterian got a taste of room service when The Pierre delivered them a care package Friday.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Unable to serve customers due to the coronavirus outbreak, The Pierre is breaking open the mini bar and serving health care workers instead.
Friday the hotel donated a collection of snacks to health care workers and first responders at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
Hotel staff say it was a better way to use the snacks they'd normally just stock in their rooms.

“We are indebted to the police officers and the healthcare workers for all they are doing for
New York at this stressful time," said Francois-Olivier Luiggi, the Pierre's General Manager. "We hope these snack packs bring a momentary break from the daily pressures they are facing.”
The hotel has been closed since Gov. Cuomo closed non-essential businesses through a stay-at-home order on March 20. That order has been extended and will remain in place until at least May 15.
