Man Fatally Struck By Taxi On Upper East Side

The man was walking in the intersection of East 78th Street and York Avenue when he was hit by a yellow cab.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man died after being struck by a taxi Saturday night on the Upper East Side, police told Patch.

The 50-year-old man, who's currently unidentified, was walking in the intersection of East 78th Street and York Avenue at 9:30 p.m. when he was struck by a yellow cab, police said. The man was transported to New York Presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead, police told Patch.

The cab driver stayed on the scene of the collision and has not been charged with any crimes, police told Patch.
