Man Found Dead In Upper East Side Subway Car, NYPD Says
Criminality is not suspected in the death, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was found dead Monday morning in the East 96th Street second avenue subway station, an NYPD spokesman said.
The man's body was found inside a northbound Q train that stopped in the station shortly before 9:30 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Police arrived on scene shortly after and began investigating the man's death, an NYPD spokesman said.
The man was unconscious and unresponsive when found and declared dead on the scene, police said. There was no ID on the body and investigators believe the man may have been in his 40s or 50s and homeless, police said. The man's body did not show signs of trauma and criminality is not suspected in the death, an NYPD spokesman said.

The city medical examiner will determine the man's exact cause of death, police said.
Trains on the Q line operated with delays in both directions while police investigated at East 96th Street, according to the MTA.
