Man Gropes 2 Women On Upper East Side, Police Say

The man approached two women from behind and groped them on Upper East Side streets.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man accused of groping to women on the Upper East Side, police told Patch.

The suspect allegedly approached two woman on the morning of Sunday, Sept. 3, and grabbed their buttocks, police told Patch. Police released photos of the suspect Tuesday.

Both assaults occurred within a 30-minute time span, police told Patch.

The suspect groped the first victim, a 58-year-old woman, in the vicinity of East 86th Street and 3rd Avenue around 7:45 a.m., police said. The man approached the woman from behind and grabbed her buttocks before fleeing the scene, police told Patch.

The man struck again at 8:10 a.m., this time groping a 35-year-old woman in the vicinity of East 93rd Street and First Avenue, police said.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s standing 5-foot-6 and weighing about 160 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, red pants and gray sneakers.
