Man Made Bomb Threats During Upper East Side Bank Robbery: Police

The man told the bank teller that he had a bomb and demanded money at a Chase Bank on the Upper East Side.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are trying to identify a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred at an Upper East Side bank last month.

The man entered the Chase branch on 201 E, 79 St., between 2nd and 3rd avenues, around 5:19 on Oct. 3 and told the bank teller that he had a bomb, police told Patch. He then demanded money from the teller, who complied, and fled the bank with an unknown amount of cash, police said.

The man was captured on bank surveillance cameras wearing a white baseball cap which covers his face. Police described the man as in his 30s, standing about 6-feet-tall and with a beard.
