The man broke into French restaurant Match Brasserie via a side window.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are asking the public to help identify a man who stole tens of thousands of dollars last week from a restaurant on the Upper East Side

The man removed a side window to enter French restaurant Match Brasserie on Wednesday, Aug. 24 around 3:50 a.m., police told Patch. After breaking into the restaurant — on East 65th Street between Madison and Park avenues — the man found his way to the restaurant's office, where he grabbed the safe, police said. Inside the safe was a cool $32,000. Not a bad night's work for the alleged robber.

The suspect (pictured above) is described as bald and was last seen wearing a black shirt.
