Man Shoots Himself After Beating Ex On Upper East Side: Police
The man shot himself in the head inside of a car on East 78th Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man shot himself in the head Wednesday night after beating up his ex-girlfriend on the Upper East Side, an NYPD spokesman said.
The assault occurred inside a building on East 78th Street near the FDR Drive around 9:30 p.m., an NYPD spokesman said. After the assault, the man entered a car outside the building and was last found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene and the assault victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, an NYPD spokesman said.

A resident of the building told the New York Post that the woman was hurt badly.
"There’s blood all in the hallway," the building resident told the Post. "She was like dripping blood, she was hurt bad."
