Man Shot In Upper East Side Public Housing Building, Police Say

The 25-year-old man is expected to survive his injuries.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was shot early Tuesday morning at an Upper East Side public housing building, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The 25-year-old man was shot in the right leg shortly after midnight within the confines of the Holmes Towers development on East 93rd Street near First Avenue, police said. The man was taken to Metropolitan Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

The victim was uncooperative with NYPD investigators and a suspect is unknown, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The NYPD investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
