Man Wanted For Bomb Threats On Upper East Side Train: Police

The man allegedly shouted, "I have a bomb and am not afraid to die," on a 6 train at the East 86th Street station.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are trying to identify a man suspected of making bomb threats on an Upper East Side train this month, police told Patch.

The man allegedly shouted "I have a bomb and am not afraid to die," while riding a northbound 6 train at the East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station on Jan. 5, police said. The threats caused "panic and alarm," on the train but nobody was injured, police said. After making the threats the man fled the train in an unknown direction, police said.

The man is wanted for making terroristic threats, police told Patch.

The suspect (sketched above) is described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s who is between 5-foot-5 and 6 feet tall, police told Patch. The man was wearing a black coat, blue jeans and a knit hat when he made the bomb threats, police said.
