Men Lift Purse, Shoes From Upper East Side Boutiques, Police Say

Police are trying to identify two men who casually stole from two Madison Avenue fashion boutiques.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to investigate two men who went on an Upper East Side stealing spree, police told Patch.

The two men are accused of walking into two separate Upper East Side fashion boutiques, grabbing high-end merchandise and walking out of the stores without paying, police said. The robberies occurred the morning of Saturday, June 24, police said.

The NYPD released security camera footage Monday of the men casually walking down the street with stolen goods in hand.

On Saturday, June 24, shortly after 11 a.m. the two men walked into the Valextra Boutique on Madison Avenue between East 69th and 70th streets and swipe an orange purse, police said. About 30 minutes later, the men stole a pair of shoes from the Lanvin Men's store on the corner of Madison Avenue and East 68th Street, police told Patch.

The total value of the stolen goods is approximately $4,000, police told Patch.

Both of the suspects are men in their 40s, police said. One of the men stand about 5-foot-7 and weighs 140 pounds, police said. The other suspects stands about 5-foot-7 and weighs 180 pounds, police told Patch.
