Mother Arrested For Assaulting 71-Year-Old In Second Avenue Subway: Police
The fight started after the elderly woman criticized the behavior of the mother's child, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A mother is facing charges for assaulting an elderly woman who criticized her child's behavior in the Second Avenue and East 86 Street subway station on the Upper East Side, police told Patch.
Breonna Turk, 24, is accused of shoving and punching a 71-year-old woman Monday and was charged with second-degree assault, police said. Turk and the 71-year-old woman got into a verbal argument when the woman scolded Turk's child for bad behavior, police told Patch.
The woman was mad that Turk's child rushed into the station's elevator before letting other exit, police said. When the woman started lecturing the child, Turk and the woman started fighting, police told Patch. After striking the woman, Turk exited the station with her daughter via the elevator, police said.

The 71-year-old woman refused medical attention at the scene of the attack, police told Patch.
Turk is scheduled to appear in court for her first hearing on Thursday, according to court records.
