New Greek Restaurant To Open On The UES
A new eatery is set to open later this month, replacing another Greek restaurant.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A new Greek eatery is set to open on East 59th Street later this month, bringing a fresh take on traditional cuisine to a familiar neighborhood space.
Nostos, located at 420 East 59th St. between Sutton Place and First Avenue, will take over the storefront previously occupied by Mykonian Garden, which only opened in August.
The new co-owners, Alina Borys and Stephania Papadopoulos, said they saw an opportunity to reimagine the location with a new concept that highlights the diversity of Greek culinary traditions.

"Our goal with Nostos is to create a place that celebrates the depth and vibrancy of Greek cuisine while offering a welcoming space for the neighborhood," Papadopoulos said.
The restaurant’s name, "Nostos," reflects a concept rooted in Greek culture — a sense of longing for home — and aims to evoke the flavors, gatherings and memories tied to that idea, particularly within the Greek diaspora, the owners said.

At Nostos, diners can expect a menu inspired by regional Greek cuisine, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and a contemporary approach. Planned offerings include slow-braised dishes, wood-fired meats, hand-crafted pies, wild herbs and seafood classics.
The restaurant is slated to open by the end of the month, its owners said.
