NYC Mayoral Candidate To Public Urinators: Relieve Yourself On Gracie Mansion
Mayoral Candidate Bo Dietl wants people to send a message to Mayor Bill de Blasio — with their urine.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — New York City mayoral candidate and Donald Trump-lite Bo Dietl has a message for the city's public urinators: Go pee on Gracie Mansion.
Dietl held a press conference outside the mayor's residence Thursday to denounce the city's decriminalization of public urination, during which a staffer held up a bullseye reading "pee here." Because nothing says you're disgusted by public urination quite like encouraging it.
"Maybe those who feel its ok to urinate in public will do it outside Gracie mansion,” Dietl said in a press release. "Maybe then the mayor will get the message and have these quality of life laws reinstated as they should be."

Public urination and a host of other low-level crimes such as public drinking, breaking park rules and noise violations were decriminalized when the City Council passed the Criminal Justice Reform Act in 2016. Under the new law, police officers are encourage to issue civil summonses, not criminal summonses, to people caught violating these laws. Violations such as public urination are still considered illegal under the new law, but punishments are less severe.
But many New Yorkers did not agree with the decision to pass the law, claiming that it would harm city residents' "quality of life." Dietl has championed that cause during his mayoral run.

"It’s disgusting, a slap in the face to New Yorkers hoping for the best from its city," Dietl said in a statement. "This latest action will allow people to piss where ever they choose, exposing their private parts to innocent children."
Under the Criminal Justice Reform Act urinating wherever one wants is still illegal, as is exposing one's privates to a minor.
Dietl is running for mayor as an independent candidate after announcing his intention to challenge Mayor de Blasio in the Democratic Party. Dietl, a lifelong Republican, attempted to switch affiliation to a Democrat but ended up botching the forms, the New York Times reported. Dietl was also barred from running as a Republican after making offensive remarks about First Lady Chirlane de Blasio during a GOP debate, the Times reported.
