Police Release Photos Of Upper East Side Burglary Suspects
Three suspects are wanted for separate break ins on the Upper East Side. Police have reported 10 burglaries in the neighborhood since Feb.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police have released photos of three men wanted for burglaries on the Upper East Side. Authorities have reported a spree of burglaries lately in the neighborhood, with 10 reported incidents since Feb. 10, police told Patch.
The three suspects identified by police are wanted for separate break-ins that occurred March 21.
One of the men is the suspect of a burglary that occurred inside an East 83 Street apartment building sometime between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., police said. The man, who walks with a cane, entered the building and stole a Thinkpad, charger and jewelry, police told Patch.

Two other men are wanted for two separate burglaries in the same East 91 Street building, police said. The men entered the building at some point between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. and stole and Apple laptop, Louis Vuitton bag, a watch, jewelry, Beats headphones and a check book from an apartment, police said. Nothing was stolen from the second apartment, police told Patch.
The first suspect (pictured above) is a man in his 50s or 60s who walks with a cane, police said. The police did not have much information about the two other suspects (also pictured).

Police have taken to the Upper East Side to warn residents about the increase in burglaries. Auxiliary officers from the 19th NYPD precinct handed out crime prevention pamphlets Thursday night and have posted several safety tips to the 19th precinct Twitter page.

Police are reminding Upper East Side residents not to rely solely on slam locks. Residents should always lock their deadbolt when leaving home, as slam locks can be easily broken by burglars, according to police.
