Psychiatrist Robbed In Upper East Side Office, Police Say

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side psychiatrist was robbed inside her Park Avenue doctors office by a man who threatened to shoot her, police said.

A man walked into the psychiatrist's office on Park Avenue and East 80th Street shortly before 6 a.m. Monday and demanded money and food from the 69-year-old woman, police told Patch. The robbery was first reported by the New York Post.

The man told the psychiatrist that he was going to shoot her, but the woman never actually saw a gun, police said. The woman handed over $20 and the robber fled the office, police said.

The victim was not physically harmed during the robbery, police told Patch.
