UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police have released photos of two suspects wanted in connection with a violent attempted robbery at an Upper East Side makeup store that left two store employees injured.

Police are asking the public's help to identify a man and woman who entered a Sephora located at 750 Lexington Avenue, between East 59th and 60th streets, with the intention of stealing makeup, police told Patch. The two suspects entered the store around 5:33 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, and grabbed items of the shelves, police said.

When two store employees — a 24-year-old woman and 21-year-old man — attempted to stop the suspects from exiting the store with the stolen goods the female suspect pepper-sprayed the employees, police said. The suspects then dropped the merchandize and fled the store heading south on Lexington Avenue, police said.
