Shoplifters Swipe Items Worth Thousands From Upper East Side Stores, Police Say
Ten people are wanted for stealing items valued in the thousands from two Upper East Side stores.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Ten people are wanted for a shoplifting at Upper East Side stores and stealing merchandise worth thousands, police told Patch.
The shoplifting crew struck three stores during the months of June and July, police said. Video released by the NYPD on Monday shows the shoplifters flood into a store before quickly grabbing anything they can get their hands on and running out of the store.
The shoplifters first struck JackRabbit on 1051 Third Ave., between East 62nd and 63rd streets, on June 20. The men entered the store around 4 p.m. and grabbed merchandise valued at $2,015, police told Patch.

After laying low for a few weeks the crew hit the Nike Store on 1131 Third Avenue, between East 66th and 67th streets, twice within four days, police told Patch. On July 10 the group entered the store around 5:10 p.m. and stole merchandise worth $1,200 before fleeing the store, police said. Four days later the crew hit the same store and got away with goods worth $2,583, police said.

Police released security camera footage Monday of the shoplifters in action. The video shows the group get in and out of a store very quickly while managing to steal a good amount of loot.
