Student At UES School Arrested For Shooting Threat, Police Say

The 15-year-old threatened other students Wednesday morning at P.S. 169 on East 88th Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A student at an Upper East Side public school was arrested Wednesday morning after threatening to shoot his classmates, an NYPD spokesman said.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested without incident outside of P.S. 169 on East 88th Street between Park and Lexington avenues around 9:15 a.m., police said. The teenager was carrying a pellet gun inside his jacket at the time of his arrest, police said.

The student had stormed out of a parent-teacher meeting at the school Wednesday morning and threatened to come back with a gun, police said.

The 15-year-old was charged as a juvenile and released to his parents, police said.
