Upper East Side Flash Fire: 3 Burned, 2 Seriously, FDNY Says
Firefighters responded two a building on Fifth Avenue and East 96th Street Thursday afternoon to aid three people suffering burns.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Three people were brought to the hospital, two suffering serious injuries, after being burned in an Upper East Side building Thursday afternoon, an FDNY spokeswoman told Patch.
Firefighters responded to 1148 Fifth Avenue, located near the corner of East 96th Street, shortly before 5 p.m. to aid three people injured in a flash fire an FDNY spokeswoman told Patch.
Two of the injured were taken to New York Presbyterian hospital suffering serious injuries and one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, fire officials said.

The three people injured were reportedly working in a building elevator at the time of the fire.
