Upper East Side Ranked Just the 28th Best Neighborhood in New York

Ranking website Niche released its list of the best neighborhoods in New York, and weren't too impressed with the Upper East Side.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Is it possible that the Upper East Side is overrated? Probably not, but Upper East Siders may be surprised to see where their home turf ranks in a recent study of the best neighborhoods in New York City.

A new study on the Best Neighborhoods in New York City conducted by Niche.com listed the Upper East Side as just the 28th best neighborhood in the city. While the ranking was impressed with the neighborhood's educational opportunities, nightlife and it's easy commuting options the study panned the community on cost of living, the real estate market and jobs.
