Tamaguchi's mother tried to enter the teenager's room when she returned from work but found the door locked, police said. The mother gained entrance to the room and found her son's mattress flipped over on top of her son, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. Tamaguchi's body was inside a sleeping bag underneath the mattress, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear whether anybody else was in the home with Tamaguchi before his mother returned from work, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
