UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side former Morgan Stanley wealth manager pleaded guilty to attempting to secretly film women he was having sex with, but will barely face any consequences.

As punishment for completely violating the privacy and trust of up to three women, John Kelly received a sentence of 10 days community service, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan District Attorney's office told Patch. Justice Ronald Zweibel presided over the case, according to court records.

Kelly ended up pleading guilty to two counts of misdemeanor attempted unlawful surveillance. In 2014 Kelly was initially arrested and charged in a 19-count indictment, including several felony charges, according to court records.

Kelly was accused of secretly filming three women he had sex with at his Upper East Side apartment from May 2011 and December 2012, said the District Attorney's spokeswoman. Kelly's defense argued the videos were accidentally recorded on a device intended to monitor his dog.

Assistant District Attorney Siobhan Carty told the New York Daily News that the plea was struck to spare the victims from having the videos played in court during trial.

The strength of the prosecution's case was also in doubt, reported the Daily News. It was discovered that one of the woman Kelly was accused of filming had edited one of the sex tapes, according to the report. Kelly's lawyer, Sarita Kedia, told the Daily News that investigators had also deleted evidence off a flash drive.

John Kelly is the son of famous lawyer John Quinlan Kelly, who has worked high profile cases including the Estate of Nicole Brown Simpson v. O.J. Simpson.
