Upper East Sider Falls Victim to $400 Craigslist Ticket Scam
An Upper East Sider was turned away from Wednesday's Radiohead concert at Madison Square Garden because he purchased counterfeit tickets.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — One Upper East Sider wanted to catch Radiohead play at Madison Square Garden, but ended up the victim of a counterfeit ticket scheme.
The 33-year-old Upper East Side resident met someone he connected with on Craigslist on East 80th Street and Third Avenue and bought two tickets in exchange for $400, DNAinfo reported. But when the victim showed up Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, he was left "high and dry" when event security turned him away for having counterfeit tickets, police told DNAinfo.
The scammer, described only as a 30-year-old, is still on the loose, according to DNAinfo.
