Where to Grab a Drink on the Upper East Side this Weekend

UPPER EAST SIDE — It's been a hot couple of weeks in New York and you deserve to cool off and let loose with a cold beverage this weekend. And Patch has you covered on where you should go this weekend to grab a drink on the Upper East Side.

Here are five of the best bars in the neighborhood, according to reviews on Yelp:

Eli’s Night Shift — 189 E. 79th St.

Yelp reviewer Megan K said: "I came here for drinks with a friend and we had a great time! I decided to be adventurous and order the "Bartender's Choice". I request that it would be any sort of champagne cocktail and I received an elegant drink. The champagne cocktail was strong but well balanced with a citrusy flavor. It looked beautiful too and was served with a pretty lemon twist."

Bar Pleiades — Surrey Hotel 20 E. 76th St.

Lisa F had rave reviews: "They have an extensive specialty cocktail menu, and one of the many that caught my eye which I ordered was the Rose to the Bottom... A lovely pink drink with a distinct flavor I hadn't had before.The waitress was professional, attentive and wonderful offering suggestions and answering questions. Highly recommend as a lounge for a date, or with friends or family."

The Penrose — 1590 2nd Ave.

Yelper Sabin C said: "Great place with excellent food and amazing drinks. There are two sections with the very back being equally lit by a sky light. I loved the two bar concept and the long communal table and a section with booths."

Bar Felice — 1591 1st Ave.

Reviewer Rachel S said: "This is an intimate bar/lounge type place. It is dimly lit, but comfortable. It's perfect for a date or a girl's night out. The bartender was super nice and attentive, and the drinks were great. I tried a couple of the signature cocktails and they were delicious and strong."

Bemelmans Bar — Carlyle Hotel 35 E. 76th St.

Yelp user Masha T said: "Love the ambiance at this cozy little piano bar. Romantic, dimly lit and magical. Located in the Carlyle Hotel, Bemelmans is the perfect spot to cozy up with a date or a few good friends and take in the beautiful murals on the walls, a good cocktail and some beautiful piano music."
