Widow Refuses To Leave Sold UES Home, Report Says

The 73-year-old widow is still living in an apartment at the posh Pierre Hotel even though it was sold for nearly $10 million in 2016.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A widow may be forced to move from her luxury Upper East Side apartment after overstaying her welcome for more than a year, the Daily News first reported.

Lawyers representing the estate of Tara Kulukundis' late husband have filed legal documents seeking to remove her from her home at the Pierre Hotel on East 61st Street and Fifth Avenue, the Daily News reported. The apartment unit belonged to her husband, shipping magnate M. Michael Kulukundis, and was sold for nearly $10 million a year ago, according to the report.

The apartment's buyer has already paid $2 million of the sale and may completely pull out of the deal if Kulukundis doesn't vacate the apartment, the Daily News reports.

And it's not the first time Kulukundis has pulled this trick.

The widow reportedly had to be forced out of her husband's $25 million Southampton mansion and a five-story townhouse on East 67th St., according to legal documents obtained by the Daily News.
