Woman Fatally Struck By SUV On FDR Drive, Police Say
The Upper West Side woman was walking on the FDR Drive near East 92nd Street when she was struck by an SUV, police said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman died Wednesday night after being struck by an SUV on an Upper East Side portion of the FDR Drive, police told Patch.
Diana Singh, a 69-year-old resident of the Upper West Side, was found in a northbound lane of the FDR Drive at East 92 Street shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said. Officers discovered Singh lying on the roadway unconscious, unresponsive and suffering trauma to the head and body, police said.
Singh was transported to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead, police told Patch. Police did not have information about how Singh gained access to the FDR Drive, which is a vehicle-only roadway.

Investigators from the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that Singh was walking in a northbound lane of the FDR Drive when she was struck by a 2008 Acura RDX. The driver of the SUV, a 63-year-old man, stayed on the scene of the collision, police said.

The driver has not been charged, but he investigation remains ongoing, police told Patch.
