70-Year-Old Upper West Side Woman Dies After Throat Slashed

Susan​ Trott died early Sunday inside her residence near the intersection of West 95th Street and West End Avenue.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A 70-year-old woman is dead after she was found unconscious with her neck slashed inside her Upper West Side apartment. Around 4 a.m. Sunday, Susan Trott was found not breathing inside her residence near the intersection of West 95th Street and West End Avenue. Police received a 911 call and emergency responders declared her dead inside the unit.

Police are calling her death a homicide but say no one has been arrested. An investigation remains ongoing.

The murder marks the third on the Upper West Side this year, according to crime statistics from the NYPD's 20th and 24th precincts. All three murders have occurred within the confines of the 24th Precinct, which spans West 86th Street to West 110th Street.
