Investigators with the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that a 26-year-old man was driving a 2024 white Subaru Crosstrek northbound in the left lane of the southbound Henry Hudson Parkway when he collided head-on with a 2020 black Toyota Highlander.

The driver of the Highlander, a 49-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, police said.

A rear passenger in the Highlander, identified by police as Ada Rivero, 65, of West 57th Street, was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she was later pronounced dead.

Police said Robert Koch, 26, was arrested later Sunday evening in connection with the crash.

He was charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter, according to the NYPD.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
