Man Stabbed At UWS Subway Station, Police Say

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police are looking for a suspect after a 57-year-old man was stabbed on an uptown-bound 2 train on the Upper West Side, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim was aboard a 2 train heading uptown at the 96th Street subway station on May 11 at 1:50 a.m. when a perpetrator approached him and started an argument.

During the argument, the suspect displayed a sharp instrument and then stabbed the victim several times in the abdomen, police said.

The victim got off the train, and medics rushed him to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition, police said.

The suspect remained on the train and exited at the 125 Street-Lenox Avenue subway station to parts unknown, police said.

Police are investigating the incident and have released a photo of the suspect.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, a gray sweater, dark-colored pants, a gray hat, and white sneakers, police said. No arrests have been made yet, police said.
