Man Robs UWS Banks In Spree, Police Say

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police are investigating after a man tried to rob three different banks on the Upper West Side, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the suspect first entered the Bank of America on Broadway and West 107th Street on May 26 at 3:10 p.m. and approached a teller with a note and a bag to demand money. However, no money was taken, and the suspect ran away.

One hour later, the suspect entered the TD Bank on Broadway and West 95th Street, with a note and a bag, demanding money. The suspect took approximately $1,700 and ran uptown on Broadway.

Then, on Monday at 4:35 p.m., the suspect robbed the TD Bank at Broadway and West 110th Street with a note and a bag. The suspect removed approximately $800 before running away, traveling southbound on Broadway.

Police said the investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made yet. Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.
