UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Eataly, the artisanal Italian food purveyor, is opening a grab-and-go cafe concept on the Upper West Side on Friday, Nov. 6, the cafe's owners said.
The new Eataly Caffè will be located at 2252 Broadway, at the corner of West 81st Street, in what used to be a Starbucks.
The Upper West Side location will be the fourth Eataly Caffè in the city, following one on the Upper East Side, in Hudson Yards, and at Rockefeller Center.
"We are thrilled to bring our Eataly Caffè concept to an iconic corner of Broadway and West 81st Street," Craig Kennedy, President of Eataly North America, said. "Eataly's story in North America began in New York City 16 years ago, so opening another concept here in Manhattan is especially meaningful for us."
At the cafe, Upper West Siders can expect a range of tea and espresso-based drinks, as well as freshly made pastries, gelato, cakes sold by the slice, and heaps of chocolate.
The savory selection proves just as tempting, featuring paninis and Roman-style pizza studded with burrata and basil.
On Nov. 6, the cafe will open at 3 p.m.
In celebration of the grand opening, Eataly will be giving out gifts to the first 100 guests in line on opening day, plus complimentary mini hot chocolates and fall-inspired flower bouquets on Saturday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m.
"We can't wait to welcome in the Upper West Side community this November and share our authentic Italian caffè experience with them," Kennedy said.
