Box Truck Strikes 2 Pedestrians in Upper West Side Hit-And-Run: Police
The truck hit the pedestrians while crossing Amsterdam Avenue and West 84th Street early Tuesday morning.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Two men in their 20s were struck by a box truck while crossing the street on the Upper West Side early Tuesday morning.
The men were walking through the intersection at Amsterdam Avenue and West 84th Street at 4:50 a.m. when the truck hit them, police told Patch. The truck then fled the scene, police said.
One of the men, 24, was taken to St. Luke's hospital in critical condition, police said. Police told Patch that the man was suffering from trauma to the body, but would not elaborate on those injuries. The second victim, 26, suffered minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

The NYPD investigation into the hit-and-run is still ongoing, and the driver has not been identified.
