Hosted by the New York Society for Ethical Culture, this annual concert with Music on The Inside (MOTI) brings together MOTI protégés and their mentors with top jazz artists for rousing performances to highlight MOTI’s work bringing harmony and hope to criminal Justice.

This year will feature the music of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Mahalia Jackson and others who inspired hope in challenging times.

  • Jennie Harney-Fleming, singer and actor, Hamilton and Wonderful World
  • Alphonso Horne, trumpet

  • Mark Lewandowsky, bassist

  • Peter Malinverni, jazz pianist
  • Oni Marsalis, vocalist
  • Tammy McCann, host/singer will perform Mahalia Jackson classics
  • David O’Rourke, jazz guitarist
  • LaGuardia High School Jazz Choir led by Dawn Jones
  • Barbara Siesel, jazz flute

MOTI musicians include:

  • The MOTI Reentry Dream Band, led by guitarist David O’Rourke with Jonathan Finkelman, Jeff and Jennie Angell, Charles Walker, Patrick Morgan, and Dawud Rahman
  • John Runowicz and the Fortune Singers, highlighting our longstanding support from the Fortune Society.
  • Chontay Smith, piano and vocals
