
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is hosting a FREE activation at a New York institution blending aviation history, US-Dutch heritage, and travel fun. This is free and open to the public and ideal for aviation geeks + travel enthusiasts alike as they prep for summer travel.
The consumer activation will take place in New York City on May 22-27, 2026.
WHO:
To mark 80 years (May 21, 1946) since KLM Royal Dutch Airlines became the first European airline to launch scheduled service between New York and Amsterdam, the airline is unveiling a first-of-its-kind partnership with New York Historical including a consumer pop up experience which will be open to the public to explore.
WHEN AND WHERE
The KLM pop up (free and open to the public) will take place May 22-27, 2026 at the New York Historical located at 170 Central Park West, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The museum will be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day.)
WHAT AND WHY:
A Delft House Pop-up at The New York Historical
At The New York Historical, which houses one of the most important collections of Dutch, New Amsterdam, and early American art, the public is invited to discover the KLM travel experience through a special Delft House pop-up in the lobby. From May 22nd to May 27th, 2026, visitors can explore an immersive space that will showcase the pioneering legacy of KLM through historical items including its menus and in-flight magazines, video footage and digital assets, and a special Delft house display, ending with the new miniature Delft house of The New York Historical.
Visitors will learn more about the Dutch connection as the museum will present the Old Masters, New Amsterdam exhibit, with paintings of Rembrandt and his contemporaries, depicting life in New York. (May 1 – August 30, 2026)
