Child, 10, Slashed In Face At 104th Street Building: NYPD

Police are looking for a man who knocked on an apartment door, asked if anybody else was home, and slashed a 10-year-old in the face.

MANHATTAN VALLEY, NY — A 10-year-old boy was randomly slashed in the face as he stood on the doorstep of his apartment on West 104th Street and Manhattan Avenue, according to the New York Police Department.

The attack took place around 4 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

A man knocked on the apartment door and asked if anybody else was home when the 10-year-old answered the door. The 10-year-old said no, which immediately prompted the attacker to slash him in the face, police said.

The boy was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in stable condition.

Police describe the attacker as a man in his forties with long hair.
