Co-Working Space 'The Yard' to Open Columbus Circle Location in December

The Yard, a co-working firm, announced its plan to open a new location in Columbus Circle by the end of the year.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The Yard, a co-working firm based in New York and Philadelphia, announced Tuesday its plan to open a new location in Columbus Circle by December.

The company that deals in swanky, collaborate office spaces has signed a lease for 33 West 60th Street between Columbus Avenue and Broadway, according to a press release sent to Patch. The new space will take up three floors and 3,000 square feet of roof access.

The Columbus Circle space will be The Yard's second location on the Upper West Side. It's first location opened in Lincoln Square in 2014. The neighborhood matches up well with The Yard's preferred clientele — "a more mature set of professionals in industries including architecture, real estate, design, art, publishing, finance, film and culture," according to the press release. See, co-working isn't just for those wild and crazy millennial kids.

“With the overwhelming success of our Lincoln Square location, we wanted to find the perfect, upscale home to complement our existing Upper West Side community,” The Yard Co-Founder Richard Beyda said in the press release. “We carefully selected our Columbus Circle location to cater to a diverse group of entrepreneurs both inside and outside the tech set, and add to our many beautiful spaces featuring stunning interiors and breathtaking outdoor spaces with views of the city, just steps from major transit, popular retail and restaurants.”

The Yard is also adding a separate location to its New York portfolio in Brooklyn this year. In June the firm leased an old manufacturing building in Gowanus, which it plans to renovate heavily. The Yard also has existing New York City locations in Herald Square, Lincoln Square, the Lower East Side, Williamsburg and two locations in Flatiron.
