UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN — A dead homeless man was found covered in maggots on a subway train Tuesday, according to police and reports.

The 47-year-old man was found on a northbound D train near Columbus Circle and West 59th Street station just before 9 p.m., police said. Officers had gone to the station after someone called about an unconscious man on the train.

The man, who an NYPD spokesperson said appears to be homeless, was pronounced dead at the station, police said.

Police sources told the New York Post that the man was covered in maggots.

Police don't suspect any foul play and the medical examiner will determine the cause of death, the NYPD spokesperson said.
