Penthouse Fire Breaks out on 79th Street in the Upper West Side
A fire broke out Friday on 79th Street between Amsterdam and Broadway in the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A fire broke out Friday afternoon on 79th Street between Amsterdam and Broadway avenues in the Upper West Side, a fire department spokesman told Patch.
The blaze began around 3 p.m. in the penthouse of a residential building. Fire officials are reporting that the fire has been controlled.
