Free Concerts Coming to Lincoln Square for the Lunchtime Crowd

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Starting July 6 the Lincoln Square lunchtime crowd will be able to enjoy some soothing tunes while stuffing their faces and counting down the minutes before returning to the workplace.

The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District announced this month that it would be brining back the Lunchtime Summer Concert Series in partnership with MTA Arts & Design’s Music Under New York. The free concerts will take place at Richard Tucker Park every Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. Whole Foods will also be providing free refreshments during the concerts.

Here's the full lineup for the Lunchtime Summer Concert Series:

July 6

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Yaz Band (jazz quartet---classics, funk, R&B)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Alex LoDico Ensemble (straight ahead dynamic jazz octet)

July 13

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – The Queens Cartoonists (zany themes from Looney Tunes & Merry Melodies)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Underground Horns (audio gumbo- funk & spiced up African rhythms)

July 20

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. - Receta Secreta (Latin, house, & dance party)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. - Drumadics (percussion, horns, & funk soundscape)

July 27

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Stiletta (dynamic female vocal group led by a beatboxer)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Courtnee Roze The Musical (fusion percussion driven band)

August 3

• 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Opera Collective (Opera for the people)

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Groove Merchant (jazz, funk & groove)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – The Blue Vipers of Brooklyn (North American roots-blues & country)

August 17

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – SisterMonk (rhythm centric, female-powered trance)
• 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Karikatura (soundtrack of Eastern Europe to Brighton Beach)

August 24

• 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. – Afro Andes (Latin roots fusion - Cuba to Peru)
