Talea Beer

Talea, New York City's first woman-owned production brewery, has opened its sixth taproom location at 441 Amsterdam Ave. near West 81st Street.

Inside the taproom, Talea focuses on lower-alcohol, fruit-forward beers with familiar flavor profiles, aiming to appeal to people who may not consider themselves beer drinkers.

The new taproom opened on Sept. 25. See Patch's coverage here.

Velvet Cowboy

Velvet Cowboy is a new bar and restaurant from the team behind Jacob's Pickles, Maison Pickles, and Tiki Chick.

The space opened Sept. 28 in the original Jacob's Pickles location at 509 Amsterdam Ave. between West 84th and 85th streets.

The new concept features a dining room designed to emulate the psychedelic optimism of the 1970s, with the cowboy spirit of the American Southwest, Jacob Hadjigeorgis, the owner, said. See Patch's coverage here.

Wu's Dynasty

Wu's Dynasty, a new restaurant focusing on traditional Cantonese dim sum, opened on Sept. 10 at 210 West 70th St. near Amsterdam Avenue.

"They’re keeping things classic with traditional dim sum served from push carts, alongside Cantonese favorites like Alaskan king crab prepared three ways, Peking duck, and plenty more," Ben Hon, a food critic, wrote on Instagram.

Kine Musubi

A new shop that specializes in Hawaiian Musubi — often made with rice, grilled Spam, nori and other savory ingredients — has officially soft-opened on the Upper West Side at 128 West 72nd St. between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues on Sept. 24.
