Man Arrested After Girl, 15, Punched At UWS Subway Station: Police

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man has been arrested and charged with assault after being accused of punching a 15-year-old girl near the 72nd Street and Broadway subway station Monday night, police confirmed to Patch Tuesday afternoon.

The attack occurred at around 8:15 p.m., after which the girl was taken to the hospital after suffering a painful blow to the face and neck, police said.

The accused attacker, 51-year-old Paul Rocker of Hamilton Heights, was charged with third-degree assault, according to police.

Police confirmed to the West Side Rag, which first reported the story, that Rocker and the victim did not know each other.
