Man Falls To Death From Upper West Side Apartment Building, Police Say

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was found dead Wednesday night in the rear of an Upper West Side apartment building, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The 42-year-old man was found behind the Majestic Towers co-op on West 75th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue suffering injuries consistent with a fall from a high distance, an NYPD spokesman said. The man's body was discovered shortly before 8:30 p.m., police said.

EMS pronounced the mean dead upon arriving at the scene, an NYPD spokesman told Patch. The man allegedly had a history of mental illness and police found a note in his apartment building, police sources said.

The 42-year-old has not been identified, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
