Man Gropes 11-Year-Old On Upper West Side, Police Say

Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl as she was exiting the subway on the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man wanted for groping an 11-year-old girl on the Upper West Side, police told Patch.

The 11-year-old victim was a passenger on a southbound 2 train on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 21, police said. When the girl stood up from her seat to exit the train at the Broadway and West 79 Street station, a man touched her groin with his hand, police said.

The girl exited the train and the man who assaulted her remained on the train as it exited the station, police told Patch.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s standing about 5-foot-5 and weighing around 170 pounds, police told Patch. The man has a medium build and complexion and was last seen wearing blue jeans, tan hat and black shoes, police said.
