Man Stabbed On Manhattan Subway, Police Say

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man was stabbed during the Thursday morning commute on the Upper West Side, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the 30-year-old man was inside the West 96th Street station at 7:38 a.m. when the perpetrator stabbed him with modified brass knuckles.

The commuter was on a downtown 2 train when the attacker tried to start a fight with the victim before the stabbing, police said.

The victim was stabbed in the neck and back and taken to Mount Sinai West in stable condition, police said.

Police arrested the suspected attacker at the scene, and the investigation is underway, officials said. Charges are pending.
