"Trump's lawyers are now arguing in federal court that the law no longer applies to him, a desperate argument that flies in the face of the plain language of the statute and legislative intent," a spokesperson from Hoylman's office wrote in a news release.

Hoylman will call on Trump to stop fighting access to his tax returns.

The news conference is also purposely taking place on April 15 — traditionally Tax Day.
