Woman Jumps In Front Of Train On Upper West Side, Officials Say
A woman died after jumping in front of a northbound 3 train at West 72nd Street and Broadway, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman died after jumping in front of a train at the West 72nd Street and Broadway subway station Thursday night, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch.
Several witnesses told police they saw the woman jump from the edge of the platform and get hit by the train around 5:20 p.m., an NYPD spokeswoman said. Firefighters responded to the station around 5:45 p.m., and EMS pronounced the woman dead on the scene, officials told Patch.
The NYPD spokeswoman could not confirm the identity or age of the woman who was killed, but did say that criminality is not suspected in the death. The investigation into the woman's death is still ongoing, police told Patch.

- Northbound 3 trains are running on the 5 line from Nevins Street to 149th Street-Grand Concourse.
- Southbound 2 and 3 trains are running local from 96th Street to Times Square-42nd Street.
- Northbound 3 trains are running local from Times Square-42nd Street to 96th Street.
- Northbound 1 and 3 trains are bypassing 72nd Street.
- Northbound 5 trains are running local from Third Avenue-149th Street to 180th Street.
- Expect delays on 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains.
