Person Killed By 2 Train At 72nd Station On Upper West Side
A person was struck and killed by a train at the 72nd Street Station on Sunday evening, according to police.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person was hit and killed by a train at the 72nd Street station Sunday evening, according to police.
The person was struck around 6 p.m. at the Upper West Side station in Manhattan, said police.
The individual was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical service, according to a police spokesperson.

The incident led to delays in 1,2 and 3 train service on Sunday, as southbound express service ran on the local track from 96th Street to Times Square 42nd Street. Additionally, all three trains were bypassing the 72nd Street stop entirely to allow space for the investigation, according to the MTA alerts.
Update: 2 and 3 trains are running on the local track in both directions between 96 St and Times Sq - 42 St while we investigate reports of someone who was struck by a train at 72 St.

Southbound 1,2 and 3 trains resumed making stops Sunday at the 72nd Street station around 7:30 p.m.
