Pickpocket Steals Woman's Wallet In Upper West Side Train Station, Police Say
The man approached the 34-year-old woman from behind and took the wallet from her backpack, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is searching for a man who stole a woman's wallet on an Upper West Side subway platform, police told Patch.
On Sunday, the suspect (pictured above) approached a 34-year-old woman on the northbound 2 train platform at the West 96th Street and Broadway subway station, police said. The man approached from behind and removed the woman's wallet from her backpack and fled the station, police said.
The wallet contained $240 and various debit and credit cards, police told Patch. The woman was not physically injured during the theft, police said.

The suspect is described as a bald man in his 40s or 50s standing roughly 6-foot-5, police said. The man was wearing a black suit and white shirt at the time of the theft, police told Patch.
