UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A student at an Upper West Side high school was stopped by security Monday while trying to bring a stun gun onto school grounds.

Alexis Delrosario, 17, was flagged by the metal detectors as he was entering Martin Luther King Jr. High School on Amsterdam Avenue near West. 66th Street, police told Patch. A school resource officer searched Delrosario and found a stun gun in the student's jacket pocket, police said.

Delrosario told the officer that he had no idea how the stun gun got in his pocket, and he was given a summons for possession of an unauthorized device on school grounds, police told Patch.
