Target To Open Second Upper West Side Location
The chain store has signed a lease for a space on Columbus Avenue

UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN — The Upper West Side doesn't just have one Target in its future, it has two.
The chain store recently signed a lease for a space at 795 Columbus Ave., the Columbus Square complex, in what will become its second store in the neighborhood, I Love the Upper West Sideand Pincusco first reported.
The new, smaller store, will be in addition to the Upper West Side's first Target location near Columbus Circle that is set to open up later this year.

"We’re excited to bring an easy, convenient shopping experience to new guests in these communities with the new Target stores," a spokesperson told Patch about the new Columbus Avenue spot and another slated for the Upper East Side.
"As we get closer to opening the stores, we’ll have more specific details to share – including how the shopping experiences will be tailored to serve local guests along with official grand opening dates for each new location."

The company signed a 15-year lease with the landlord, Chetrit Group, for a 24,000 square foot space at the Columbus Square complex, according to the reports.
The Columbus Circle Target, which has been in the works since 2018 and was first scheduled to open in 2019, will be a larger, 34,000-square-foot store.
